TAS Services

The Trade Agreements Sector provides two broad categories of services:

• Negotiating trade agreements and conducting public awareness events to ensure that the Egyptian trading community participates effectively in the negotiations and takes advantage of those agreements.
  
• Conducting investigations to protect domestic industry from unfair and injurious trade practices by exporters or governments in other countries.

We can do the following to help your business or trade association in the area of trade agreements:

• Conduct workshops on the WTO and bilateral/regional trade agreements.
• Disseminate publications on bilateral/regional trade agreements and WTO.
• Answer questions about the details of trade agreements.
• Respond to complaints about trade agreements and monitor trading partners' implementation of the agreements.
• Provide the texts of trade agreements electronically (through this website or by email) or in hard copy.
• Help you access tariff information for applied tariffs and commitments for all agreements that Egypt is party to.
• Represent your interests in trade negotiations through the Federation of Egyptian Industries or Export Councils’ participation in the High National Committee on Doha Negotiations.

In the area of trade remedies, we can:

• Provide information about anti-dumping, subsidies/countervailing duties, and safeguards instruments.
• Help draft complaints and applications for trade remedies.
• Launch and conduct investigations.
• Publish reports on investigations.
