Periodic Studies and Reports

The unit also prepares periodic Trade Performance Reports analyzing Egyptian trade data using the latest available figures. These reports will be issued annually and quarterly and will be published and updated on the website. We expect to issue the first quarterly report by June 2007. On this link, the unit will also post a summary of the analytical studies conducted by the unit, including results and tools used.

First Report: Analysis of the New Tariff 2007

The new tariff was issued in 05/02/2007 via the presidential decree No. 39 for the year 2007 as a new step towards more trade liberalization, and competitiveness enhancement of the Egyptian products both internationally and locally, in addition to the improvement of the business environment through attracting more foreign investments. The implementation of the new tariff started in 07/02/2007 on all products, in order to boost the growth of the Egyptian economy. The Unit has prepared a report analyzing the new applied tariff and some attached tables showing the changes and amendments.
