Introduction to the WTO Anti-dumping Agreement
Egypt is a WTO member and a signatory to the WTO Anti-dumping Agreement.
The WTO Anti-dumping Agreement provides that an imported product sold in Egypt at a price less than its selling price in the domestic market of the exporting country or at less than its total cost, is to be considered as being dumped in the Egyptian market. In cases where dumped imports cause or threaten to cause injury to the Egyptian industry producing like goods, the Egyptian government may apply anti-dumping measures up to the extent of the established dumping margin. The WTO Anti-Dumping Agreement includes many detailed rules to determine if dumping and injury caused by dumping is occurring. |
