The 27th Meeting of COMESA inter governmental committee and council of ministers was held in Lusaka - Zambia - during 3-8 Dec 2009.

The Ministers disscussed the recent developments after launching the COMESA Customs Union in June 2009 and the action plan for the implementation after the three years transitional period.

The Ministers also discussed the preparations for COMESA-EAC-SADC free trade area negotiations.
