In the context of signing the Declaration of Intents between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of Singapore in November 2006 aiming to reach an  agreement on comprehensive economic cooperation between the two countries,Both countries  held the first meeting during the period from 1-2 June 2009 at the Trade Agreements Sector  under the chairmanship of Mr.Abdel-Rahman Fawzi - the first undersecretary of Trade and industry and the Head of trade agreements and foreign trade sectors- from the Egyptian side, and Mr. / Rossman Ithnain - Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry from the Singaporean  side.
  

this meeting involved representatives from many Egyptian institutes that are concerned with trade and industry matters , they are :

- The trade agreements sector
- Commercial services sector
- The General Authority for Industrial Development
- Technological development sector
- The General Authority for Export and Import Control
- The central administration of the Agricultural Quarantine
- Customs authority  
- The General agency for Standards and Quality

  The aim of this first meeting of the two countries was to explore each of the other party ,and thus the focus was on the exchange of legislation and regulations governing trade and industry of both countries as well as the exchange of questions and queries in the same regard.
