the General Council decided that the Seventh Session of the Ministerial Conference shall be held in Geneva, Switzerland from 30 November to 2 December 2009.

The general theme for discussion at the Seventh Session shall be "The WTO, the Multilateral Trading System and the Current Global Economic Environment".

Mr. Pascal Lamy/ the Director General mentioned that it’s unlikely for the Doha negations to be tackled during the Ministerial Conference for the conference  will stress on the current Global Financial Crisis.

Although the drafted Agenda doesn’t include the Doha Round item, it is highly expected that Mr .Lamy will seize the opportunity of the Conference to address the stagnant Round as recently been done in most world forums and World Trade Organization in the General Council meetings in stressing on the importance of international trade to face the financial crisis.
